Crafted in Columbia, Pennsylvania, by the Wilton family of metalcrafters, Armetale metalware was developed to capture the warm, heavy luster of traditional pewter while offering modern durability and safety. Designed to withstand oven-to-table heat and chilling, these American-made pieces became staples of mid-century and 1970s formal dining.
Measuring approximately 14 1/4 inches long by 11 1/4 inches wide, this substantial oval meat platter features the classic functional "Well & Tree" design. The sculpted central tree channels direct savory roasting juices down toward the recessed well at the base, keeping carved beef, pork, or holiday roasts elevated and juicy while serving.
The underside bears Wilton's distinctive maker’s marks, including the encircled "RWP" (R. Wilton Pewter/Armetale) hallmark, the "WILTON - COLUMBIA, PA" stamp, and design patent indicators.

Condition Summary: Good usable vintage condition. The heavy metal platter is structurally sound, stable, and completely free of cracks, warping, or structural breaks. The underside stamps remain crisp and legible. As expected with a genuinely functional vintage meat server, the interior cooking surface shows visible authentic utensil scratching and surface wear from decades of carving and slicing, which has been left entirely unpolished to preserve its honest character.
Care: Hand wash with mild soap and warm water; dry immediately with a soft towel. Do not place in an automated dishwasher. Store cushioned in acid-free tissue paper.
