Vintage 1950s Polish Glass Christmas Ornament Multicolor Mica Snow Ball Blown 2.5 In
✨ Cabinet Curiosity No. 431 | The Polish Frost-Dusted Cathedral
During the 1950s, European glass artisans—particularly master blowers in Poland—created some of the most imaginative, labor-intensive holiday ornaments in the world. Exported to American department stores, these handcrafted imports offered a dazzling contrast to domestic mass-produced balls.
Measuring approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter, this stunning vintage Polish ornament features a hand-blown round glass sphere molded into vertical, segmented "cathedral window" panels. Each recessed panel is hand-lacquered in a brilliant jewel-tone shade—ruby red, cobalt blue, emerald green, and sunshine gold—creating a breathtaking stained-glass effect when hit by tree lights.
To complete the winter wonderland aesthetic, heavy drifts of sparkling white mica snow encrust both the crown and the base, clinging to the glass like fresh glacial frost. Topped with a simple silver-tone metal cap and wire hanger, this luminous standalone bauble carries the unmistakable romance of mid-century European holiday tradition.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their pasts are checkered.
Vintage means used: Expect honest, authentic character consistent with age and previous love.
The Smell & Storage Factor: My workspace is pet-friendly and smoke-free. Buyers with extreme sensitivities should review the full Vintage Items & Allergens note in my Shop Announcement.
