Founded in the late 1970s by Joyce and Bob Byers in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, Byers’ Choice Ltd. became an American holiday tradition. Handcrafted by local artisans, each figure in "The Carolers" collection is individually built around a wire-and-cloth armature, featuring a hand-painted clay head with a signature open-mouth expression designed to capture the joyous spirit of Victorian Christmas caroling.
Dated 1990 on its original gold foil base label, this classic female caroler stands approximately 13 inches tall. She wears a sharply tailored outfit for a winter outing: a vibrant red fitted felt coat with traditional split back tails, layered over a deep green and navy plaid woven skirt and a cozy navy fabric bonnet framing her blonde hair. In her hands, she cradles a large, luxurious white faux-fur muff to ward off the winter chill.
The underside of the green felt-covered wooden base bears the authentic gold foil manufacturer's seal: "Byers' Choice Ltd. / THE CAROLERS / © 1990 / CHALFONT, PA. USA." A wonderful collector's piece for established Byers' Choice villages or traditional holiday mantels.

Honest vintage patina includes normal, light age-related surface lint and stray fibers on the dark wool and felt components, consistent with a display piece of this vintage.
