Produced in the late 1950s to 1960s, this hand-decorated glass sphere moves away from predictable holiday reds and greens in favor of sophisticated Hollywood Regency warmth: luminous honey gold, soft satin champagne, and architectural gilding.
Offered individually, this blown glass sphere measures approximately 3 1/4 inches tall to the top of its cap and commands attention with its rich textural contrast. The sphere features a brilliant, mirror-reflective metallic amber-gold center band flanked by dual horizontal horizons of frosted champagne satin.
The hand-applied ornamentation gives it genuine Art Deco flair. Stenciled across the high-gloss gold glass is a repeating lattice of interlocking circular arches, creating an intricate fish-scale or petal canopy. Framing each champagne horizon are thick, raised borders of chunky silver glass glitter that catch candlelight and tree bulbs with crisp, frosted brilliance.

The amber-gold lacquer retains brilliant reflective shine, and the champagne satin bands are smooth and clean, with one faint pinpoint oxidation freckle consistent with authentic vintage silvered glass. The interlocking circular stencil work is crisp, and the heavy silver glass glitter bands are intact with minor natural shedding typical of age. Original scalloped metal cap and wire loop are secure.
Care: Handle with clean, dry hands. Dust gently using a dry, soft camel-hair artist brush. Keep completely dry, as moisture or liquid sprays will dissolve vintage water-soluble glitter adhesives and lift exterior lacquers. Wrap in acid-free tissue paper and store inside a sturdy, crush-proof box.
