In mid-century holiday design, realism was strictly optional. When Japanese toy sculptors and novelty makers dreamt up woodland creatures for the postwar export boom, they favored storybook whimsy: oversized anime-style eyes, cheerful grins, and proportions that happily blurred the line between woodland fawn and playful hare.

Offered as an adorable matched pair, these vintage white flocked deer look like they stepped straight out of a 1960s holiday animation short. Cast with long, slender legs, perky upright ears, and upturned tails, both figures are coated in velvety white flocking. Their bodies are sprinkled with bold cherry-red polka dots across the hips and back, while the long ears are detailed with vibrant scarlet-pink inner panels.

Their personalities shine through the sweet cartoon faces, featuring large black painted eyes with bright white pupil catchlights, a tiny button nose, and an upturned smile. Around each neck sits a tailored red felt bowtie collar anchored by a glittering gold metallic sequin.

Materials: Molded plastic, nylon flocking, felt, metallic sequins, gold hanging cord.

Condition Transparency: Excellent vintage condition with wonderful retro character. The velvety white flocking is clean, bright, and intact across both deer, with no structural cracks, broken legs, or bald spots. The red polka dots, ear inserts, and bowties are complete and firmly affixed. Sequins retain bright metallic flash. Under close inspection, there is faint natural age-related discoloration near the inner seams and minor production glue marks original to manufacture. Gold hanging threads are secure.

Care: Dust gently with a soft, clean dry makeup brush or low-pressure air bulb. Keep dry and store in acid-free tissue paper inside a rigid box. Never expose to liquid cleaners, which will damage vintage flocking and felt adhesives.
