Vintage Avon Kids Bedtime Tales Talking Bears Working Set In Box Holiday Plush
✨ Cabinet Curiosity No. 400 | The Fireside Bedtime Recital
Long before tablets and digital screens took over the bedtime routine, holiday evenings in the late 1990s were spent gathered by the glow of the Christmas tree, listening to storybook classics recited by mechanical, woolly storytellers.
Released through the Avon Kids line, the "Bedtime Tales" animated bear duo was designed to turn evening story hour into an interactive fireside performance. Offered as a complete, fully functioning two-piece set in their original presentation box, Momma Bear and Baby Bear communicate directly back and forth. When activated, Baby Bear asks for a story, prompting Momma Bear to recite Clement Clarke Moore's classic poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" before the pair harmonizes together on a festive winter tune and bids a tender goodnight.
Both figures are crafted from curly honey-tan boucle plush with warm golden undertones, featuring dark glass-style pupil eyes, embroidered velvety noses, and soft pink felt mouths. They arrive dressed in coordinating holiday sleepwear tailored from rich red-and-green tartan plaid. Momma Bear wears a buttoned nightshirt with deep burgundy cuffs and a matching knotted headband, while Baby Bear sports an oversized nightcap finished with a burgundy band and an emerald green pompom.
Preserved alongside their original illustrated script sheet and the graphic Avon Kids geometric storage box, this set captures the peak era of interactive holiday animatronics.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their pasts are checkered.
Vintage means used: Expect honest, authentic character consistent with age and previous love.
The Smell & Storage Factor: My workspace is pet-friendly and smoke-free. Buyers with extreme sensitivities should review the full Vintage Items & Allergens note in my Shop Announcement.
Storied Vintage. Curated with Intention.
