Vintage Scimitar Sword Pendant Necklace 1970s Ornate Gold Filigree Dagger
✨ Cabinet Curiosity No. 396 | The Damascus Silhouette
Statement jewelry of the 1970s had little patience for modesty. When runway designers and boutique jewelers turned their eyes toward romanticized antiquities, they skipped delicate lockets entirely in favor of bold talismans, heavy double chains, and regal weaponry.
Suspended horizontally to rest flat against the collarbone, this vintage gold-tone scimitar pendant captures the theatrical elegance of Ottoman-revival jewelry. The sweeping curved blade is crafted with pierced openwork filigree scrollwork, bordered by beaded granulated milgrain trim and accented with raised, domed metallic bosses along the spine.
The sculpted hilt features a teardrop pommel and a flared crossguard with matching beaded relief. Dual jump-ring anchor points at the hilt and upper blade suspend the sword sideways, allowing the curved blade to cut a dramatic horizontal line across the chest. The pendant hangs from a substantial, weighty double-ring chain featuring alternating round and oval cable links that slips easily over the head, balancing the intricate filigree with unapologetic runway presence.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their pasts are checkered.
Vintage means used: Expect honest, authentic character consistent with age and previous love.
The Smell & Storage Factor: My workspace is pet-friendly and smoke-free. Buyers with extreme sensitivities should review the full Vintage Items & Allergens note in my Shop Announcement.
