Before 1990s holiday mantels embraced sleek minimalism, Kristin Haynes and Cast Art Industries took over American living rooms with a legion of barefoot, chubby-cheeked celestial cherubs.
Titled "Holiday on Ice" and released as a Third Edition piece in 1994, this substantial tabletop figurine captures peak 1990s holiday nostalgia. Stretching nearly a foot in length, the scene depicts a lively six-character skating train gliding across a frosted ice strip set into a snowbank base.
Leading the spirited conga line is a sweet girl cherub in a red winter sweater and green skirt, wearing a natural dried-grass wreath with red poinsettias and cradling a little rabbit. Tightly holding on behind her are five determined skating companions: a cherub bundled in a green coat and blue overalls topped with a Santa hat, a winged angel in a red snowsuit, a fuzzy-haired bear cub in matching denim overalls, a barefoot cherub balancing on silver blades, and an eager tan bunny bringing up the rear.
The piece features all the signature textural hallmarks that made Dreamsicles a cultural phenomenon in the mid-1990s: textured matte casting, hand-painted pastel and festive tones, faux fur hair tufts, red ribbon ties, and real dried-grass botanical wreaths. The front of the snowdrift is anchored by an applied brass-tone plaque reading "HOLIDAY ON ICE / Third Edition 1994."

Condition Transparency: Very good vintage condition with charming character. The six sculpted figures, delicate skate blades, real dried wreaths, and hair tufts are intact and well preserved. Light, natural surface dust is nestled in the painted recesses as expected with textured matte vintage plaster. The brass-tone plaque retains its original clear factory protective film, which is gently lifting at the far left edge. The back of the white snowbank base shows a small shallow edge chip with a light brown mark right of center, along with a small dark surface speck to the left. The gray felt bottom is intact with minor lint and faint vintage shop markings.
Care: Dust gently with a soft dry artist paintbrush. Do not expose to moisture or water, as the matte composite material and dried botanicals are porous.
