There is something undeniably comforting about European pressed glass from the turn of the millennium, particularly when it arrives decorated with flying reindeer and a sleigh overflowing with gifts.

Made in Germany for Mikasa's "Silent Night" collection (pattern SA 958), this festive footed glass basket combines a frosted satin finish with high-relief, clear embossed glasswork. Encircling the body of the bowl is the classic Christmas Eve journey: Santa Claus waving from his runner sleigh, team of reindeer mid-leap, and a sky filled with embossed stars beneath a ruffled, frosted scalloped rim.

The bowl rests securely on three molded clear star-shaped feet. Arched over the top is a clear, twisted-ribbon lucite handle secured to the rim with molded side rosettes, allowing it to function both as an elevated holiday candy basket and an eye-catching centerpiece.

Preserved in its original red presentation box bearing its original Kohl's retail identification tag, this piece captures late 1990s and early 2000s holiday hosting in classic crystal style.

Materials: Pressed glass, frosted glass, acrylic / lucite handle, paperboard packaging.

Condition Transparency: Excellent vintage condition. Glass bowl is free of chips, cracks, flea bites, or rim roughness. The frosted finish is clean and even. The removable clear handle is intact and sturdy, with faint, natural age-related ambering to the small attachment rings at the sides. The underside of the glass near the star feet retains faint dark pen markings from a previous owner, and the factory sticker remains seated inside the center bottom of the bowl. The original red box is included and structurally sound, showing visible vintage shelf wear, creases, and top flap tears from opening.

Care: Hand wash only in lukewarm water. Handle can be gently removed for thorough washing and storage.
