Vintage Blue Band Stoneware Crock Small Utensil Holder Farmhouse Pottery 6 Inch
✨ Cabinet Curiosity No. 386 | The Country Kitchen Double-Stripe
Before modern kitchen canisters arrived in matching pastel sets, the heavy stoneware crock quietly ran the entire household. It held salted butter in spring, pickled vegetables through November, and wooden spoons near the hearth without demanding an ounce of attention.
This charming small cylindrical crock carries the timeless utilitarian charm of classic country pottery, finished in an off-white salt-style glossy glaze wrapped in two hand-brushed cobalt blue bands.
What sets this particular piece apart from typical Midwestern and Ohio stoneware is its exposed, warm reddish-orange clay body. Rather than the standard buff or light tan clay, the exposed unglazed rim and heavy base reveal rich earthenware tones that give it an earthy, grounded presence on open shelving.
Thrown by hand on the wheel with subtle throwing rings along the unglazed underside, the cobalt stripes show authentic hand-applied brushwork where the rich blue pigment meets the glossy field. It is compact, wonderfully heavy for its size, and perfectly proportioned for countertops, workbenches, or windowsills.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their pasts are checkered.
Vintage means used: Expect honest, authentic character consistent with age and previous love.
The Smell & Storage Factor: My workspace is pet-friendly and smoke-free. Buyers with extreme sensitivities should review the full Vintage Items & Allergens note in my Shop Announcement.
