Vintage Mikasa Crystal Holiday Bells Hostess Platter 14 3/4" Christmas Box
✨ Cabinet Curiosity No. 385 | The 1986 Holiday Table Crystal
By the mid-1980s, hosting a formal Christmas dinner required a dedicated glass platter reserved solely for sliced ham, sugar cookies, or butter mints, preferably stamped with festive holiday bells and frosted pine boughs.
Mikasa's Holiday Bells pattern captured that exact mid-decade holiday table tradition with crisp pressed crystal and detailed festive motifs.
The Anatomy & Architecture
Measuring a generous 14¾ inches across, this round hostess platter is fashioned from clear, heavy pressed crystal with an elegant scalloped outer rim.
The upper half of the surface features an intricate frosted design anchored by a large looped ribbon bow tying together two detailed holiday bells, both banded with geometric patterns and hanging clappers.
Surrounding the bells are frosted pinecones, holly leaves with berries, and cascading pine boughs against a finely stippled background that creates high-contrast texture.
The lower half of the platter remains smooth and clear, designed for functional food presentation while framing the festive border above.
The Vintage Pedigree & Condition
Preserved in remarkable condition, this piece comes complete with its original vintage box showing honest edge wear and shelf aging.
The crystal platter itself is brilliant and clear, with no visible chips or cracks along the scalloped edge.
The surface is clean and bright, maintaining its crisp frosted detailing and original factory polish.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their pasts are checkered.
Vintage means used: Expect honest, authentic character consistent with age and previous love.
The Smell & Storage Factor: My workspace is pet-friendly and smoke-free. Buyers with extreme sensitivities should review the full Vintage Items & Allergens note in my Shop Announcement.
