Vintage 1994 Moorcroft Anemone Blue Pottery Bowl 10 Inch Signed English Art Ceramic

Vintage Moorcroft Anemone Blue Ceramic Bowl

Cabinet Curiosity No. 299 | The Tube-Lined Diva

Most English pottery houses spent the 20th century playing it safe with polite little tea roses and timid pastel borders.

Then there was Moorcroft.

Moorcroft looked at standard English tableware, scoffed in British, and decided ceramic bowls should look like a dramatic midnight greenhouse caught in a lightning storm.

Instead of just painting flat flowers onto white clay, their master craftspeople relied on tube-lining: painstakingly piping raised slip lines across the greenware like aggressive royal cake decorators. Those raised clay borders create walled cells that trap thick, jewel-toned glazes, giving every single petal and serrated leaf a rich stained-glass depth you can actually feel with your fingertips.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their pasts are checkered.
