Enter Daher Decorated Ware, the undisputed mid-century masters of tinplate trompe-l'œil.

Measuring a generous 12.5 inches across, this shallow round metal serving tray projects intense aristocratic energy from across the living room. The center features a soft powder-blue background blooming with fiery orange peonies, midnight navy foliage, a jaunty butterfly, and an intricate green and orange scrolling ribbon border, all framed by a wide rolled gold-colored rim.

Is it fragile imperial porcelain? Absolutely not. It is lightweight, durable tinplate designed to haul a fresh pot of Earl Grey, a sleeve of digestive biscuits, or three damp gin-and-tonics without breaking a sweat.
