Vintage 1940s Elephant Planter Green Pink Circus Trunk Up Good Luck Ceramic Cachepot
$26.10 $29.00
✨ Cabinet Curiosity #221: The Unemployed Circus Star
Curated for modern nerds and old souls.
Look, life as a 1940s circus performer is tough, but balancing a tiny ball on your forehead while wearing a hot-pink raspberry saddle blanket and pretending you're thrilled about it? That takes absolute dedication.
Attributed to the legendary Shawnee Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio, this glazed ceramic pachyderm is doing his absolute best to hold down a job in your living room.
He features a pale mint-green glazed hide, an expression that says "I signed up for peanut duty, not heavy lifting," and an upward-curled trunk. According to vintage folklore, a trunk pointed at the sky brings good luck, prosperity, and financial success directly into your home. Given his current career pivot into holding pothos cuttings, he could use a little extra luck himself.
Whether you stuff his hollow back with a dramatic succulent, fill him with air plants, or simply let him sit on your windowsill judgmentally watching the neighborhood birds, this piece brings a heavy dose of retro kitsch and main-character energy to any shelf.

Because these items have lived past lives, they arrive with authentic character consistent with their age and previous use. The items have been cleaned and freshened whenever safe, but their original environments remain unknown. Since scent perception is subjective, buyers with extreme sensitivities may choose to give items a light wipe upon arrival.
