Produced between 1978 and 1982 in Williamstown, West Virginia, Fenton’s "Blue Roses on Blue Satin" line is basically the glass equivalent of a delicate Regency romance novel.
This footed compote (and no, it is not a fan vase, despite what half of eBay seems to think) features a double-crimped ruffled rim that looks like frozen blue velvet.
It was hand-painted by an artist named C. Evans, who somehow managed to paint tiny blue roses onto frosted glass without losing their mind. It even survived the last four decades with its original gold foil Fenton sticker intact, which is nothing short of a miracle given how usually those stickers peel off if you so much as look at them wrong.
