In 1987, Fitz and Floyd took traditional country kitchen decor and gave it maximum whimsical personality. Instead of standard barnyard hens, they sculpted a proud hen/rooster in a cozy patterned green scarf, accompanied by two tiny yellow chicks wearing dapper little Sunday bonnets and bowties.
This 3D raised-relief ceramic platter is a masterclass in 1980s Japanese ceramic craftsmanship.
Surrounded by a textured green stippled border with yellow floral trim and fluttering pink butterflies, the relief figures pop right off the cream background. It is an increasingly hard-to-find Fitz and Floyd collectible that brings instant warmth and humor to a country kitchen display, plate rail, or holiday table.
