Between 1947 and 1952, during the Allied occupation of Japan following World War II, all goods manufactured for export were required to carry the "Occupied Japan" designation. Despite the economic hardships of the era, Japanese ceramic artisans produced delicate, romantic porcelain items that captured the hearts of mid-century collectors.
This petite footed vessel is a prime example of that resilience and craftsmanship.
Featuring a dramatically fluted, ruffled rim trimmed in gold, a soft sage green band, and delicate pink rose bouquets, it sits atop four small gilded feet. The underside bears a mysterious red wreath backstamp around the letter "W" directly above the historic "Occupied Japan" mark. It is a tiny slice of post-war history that serves as a charming vanity ring caddy, small flower vase, or display piece.

Design Features: Softly rounded body, four small footed pedestal legs, fluted ruffled rim, pink rose bouquets, green band with orange/charcoal pinstripes, and gold gilded trim.
Material: Fine Glazed Porcelain.
Dimensions: Approx. 3.875 inches (3 7/8") tall x 4.25 inches (4 1/4") across the widest part of the rim.
Condition Details:
Gilding Wear: Visible rubbing and age wear to the gold paint, particularly along the ruffled rim scallops and the footed base.
Surface: Light surface scratches, small dark specks, and age-related glaze discoloration consistent with vintage porcelain.
Hairline / Scratch Note: One thin vertical line is visible on the side wall (may be a light surface scratch or a fine hairline; please review photos closely).
Structure: No obvious large chips, missing porcelain sections, or repairs identified.
