Painted in aggressive shades of teal, mustard yellow, and orange, Barnaby isn't just a design choice. He is an unhinged morning alarm clock baked directly into high-fire glazed ceramic. He glares at you from the side of your mug with an expression that asks why you haven't already milked three cows and plowed the back pasture. You try to look away, but then you glance down at your cereal bowl, only to discover a second Barnaby lying in wait at the bottom of your Cheerio milk.
Produced in West Virginia by Taylor, Smith & Taylor, the Reveille pattern was clearly engineered by people who believed breakfast dishes should double as personal accountability coaches. This particular six-piece collection is a glorious, slightly chaotic survivor kit from that era. You get two coffee mugs so both you and your partner can be judged simultaneously, two rooster plates, one rooster bowl for heavy morning introspection, and a single floral plate that TS&T presumably included as a brief emotional break from the aggressive poultry eye contact.
They are loud, cozy, delightfully vintage, and ready to bring an absurd amount of personality to your morning routine.
