✨ Cabinet Curiosity No. 161
The Unholy Kitchen Trinity

Some people collect cheerful, matching tea sets. I prefer a kitchen bundle that tells a three-act story about dark secrets, judgmental birds, and generational culinary crimes.

Act I starts with an antique 1890s chocolate-brown stoneware bowl. It sits there looking dark, heavy, and thoroughly unimpressed with everyone since the McKinley administration. It has the distinct energy of a vessel once used for proofing sourdough, making baked beans, and hiding emergency money from an unreliable husband.

Act II brings in a 1953 Pillsbury Grand National Cookbook. I flipped through expecting nostalgic casseroles, but instead uncovered a prize-winning recipe for liver and onions. This exposed a lifelong conspiracy: my mother has maintained for decades that I loved liver as a child, and thanks to this 70-year-old relic, I now know my grandmother was the original culprit who started this family crime scene.

Act III completes the set with a vintage Andrea by Sadek footed mug from the Bird Toile collection. Featuring bright red birds and botanical flourishes, it sits on a raised pedestal foot and stares at the cookbook with a look that clearly says, "I refuse to eat worms, and I certainly refuse to eat liver."

Together, this trio forms the ultimate vintage farmhouse kitchen display: a moody stoneware centerpiece, a theatrical mug for morning coffee, and a piece of 1950s culinary history.

Add authentic mid-century and 19th-century character to your kitchen with this curated 3-piece vintage bundle. Includes antique stoneware, designer porcelain, and original 1950s ephemera.

Included in this 3-Piece Set:

1. Antique Brown Stoneware Utility Bowl (c. 1890s–1900s):
* Unmarked Pennsylvania-style pottery with deep chocolate brown slip glaze
* Exposed buff clay rim and broad, low-profile form
* Dimensions: ~8.5 inches diameter x 3.75 inches tall

2. Andrea by Sadek "Bird Toile" Footed Mug:
* Designed by Elisabeth Trostli in creamy white with red botanical illustrations
* Raised pedestal foot with a dramatic curved handle
* Dimensions: 4.25 inches tall

3. 1953 Pillsbury's 4th Grand National Recipe Book:
* First Edition paperback cookbook packed with 100 award-winning 1950s recipes
* Features nostalgic period advertising and mid-century food photography

Condition:
Good vintage and antique condition across all three pieces.
* Stoneware Bowl: Excellent primitive condition with natural glaze variations, small kiln pits, and light shelf wear on the base. No structural cracks or major chips.
* Sadek Mug: Clean condition with bright graphics. Features one small chip on the underside edge of the pedestal foot ring, which is hidden when standing upright and does not affect stability.
* Cookbook: Authentic 1953 paperback condition showing normal age toning, cover creasing, and shelf wear consistent with 70 years of kitchen use.

A Note About Vintage Items & Their Little Crimes:
Many of the treasures at Honeyblue Hollow come from estate sales, flea markets, and consignment shops where interesting things wait to begin their next chapter. Because they existed long before they found me, their past may have included pets, smoke, dust, or somebody’s grandmother who believed mothballs were a personality.

I go the extra mile to carefully clean, freshen, and air out items whenever safe and appropriate. My own workspace is pet-friendly and smoke-free. Because vintage materials can occasionally retain faint hints of their previous lives, buyers with extreme sensitivities should review the full Vintage Items & Allergens note in my Shop Announcement and consider a professional cleaning upon arrival. Basically: I will go the extra mile to prevent or reduce odors, but I cannot interrogate every vintage item about what it did in 1978.

Curated for Modern Nerds & Old Souls.

Additional Note:
This one-of-a-kind vintage set is offered through multiple sales channels and is subject to prior sale.
